Chandigarh, December 12 2016: Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh is totally oblivious of the ground realities when he stated that the political battle ahead for the ensuing assembly elections is between Congress and AAM Aadmi Prty (AAP). In fact, ruling SAD is already is so far ahead of these parties that these laggard can’t even see ahead.
Stating this here in a press note, SAD spokesman Prem Singh Chandumajra said the Congress is busy poaching on the disgruntled, rejected and outdated politicians of other parties notwithstanding growing resentment bordering on revolt in their rank and file on inclusion of those whom it considered tainted till now.
Chandumajra said that strangely, Amarinder had been flaunting picks dustbin of SAD as “trophies” to boost his poll prospects. Equally startling is his move to induct in the party some dissatisfied upstarts political ambitious AAP activists who are disenchanted from their parent party.
“ Would a party confident of victory would resort to indiscriminately inducting activists from other parties on the poll eve even at the cost of annoying its loyal dedicated workers’, asked Chandumajra adding that this ‘reflects desperation of a man who has already lost the race.
The Akali leader said that the AAP is in complete disarray in Punjab and its committed dedicated workers have already moved out of party. Of the 13 MP candidates it fielded in the last Lok Sabah polls, half of them already walked out. Even 50 percent of its elected MPs are estranged and have floated a front that would field its candidates separately. Former Punjab convener Sucha S. Chhotepur too have floated his own front.
“ Earlier, the AAP had been dropping troopers from Delhi as workers in guise of observers and now facing the dearth of candidates, it had decided to field Delhi legislators like Jarnail Singh too. In face of wave of desertions, the party was left with no option but to field light weight pliable money bags as party nominees,”, avered Chandumajra. He added that now the political battle is restricted to Congress and AAP for the second slot.
