Holds Sangat Darshan program at Nabha Assembly Segment
Tohra/Bhadson (Patiala), December 07, 2016: Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today ruled out the any possibility to allow Sikh radicals to hold Sarbat Khalsa apprehending law and order situation in the state.
Talking to the media persons on the sidelines of his Sangat Darshan program at village Tohra, Mr. Badal said that handful of self-styled leaders were hell bent upon to hold ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ for hatching conspiracies to derail the process of development and peace in the state and push it back in turbulent times. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government could not allow these divisive forces to hold Sarbat Khalsa, as these could jeopardize the law and order situation in the state. Making his firm resolve, the Chief Minister said that his government was committed to preserve the law & order at any cost besides strengthening the social fabric and maintaining peace, communal harmony and brotherhood in the state.
Asked to specify the objective of Moga Rally, the Chief Minister said that the basic theme of this rally was ‘Save Water, Save Punjab’ to sensitize the people about the gravity of situation in context of Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal besides exposing the black deeds and anti-Punjab stance of Congress leadership on the inter-state issues especially the river waters from day one. He said the Congress had always betrayed Punjab and its people on every issue, be it political, social, economic or religious. He said the issue of SYL was an outcome of Congress Party’s’ apathetic attitude towards Punjab. He categorically said, “We don’t’ have a single drop of spare water to share with anyone and nor there is any question and neither there is any need for the construction of SYL canal. The Chief Minister cautioned the people of Punjab to beware of nefarious designs of Congress leadership, which was shedding crocodile tears over SYL issue by tendering resignations to enact drama just to garner mass support within on the Assembly polls-2017.
Reply to a question about any possibility of granting interim relief to the Government employees in the wake of 6th Punjab Pay Commission, the Chief Minister said that the state government would take a final call after due deliberations with the current Pay Commission.
On the issue of raid by Vigilance Department on the Engineering College at Jalalabad run by the family of SAD MP from Ferozepur Mr. Sher Singh Gubaya, the Chief Minister said that he was unaware about it, though he asserted that Mr. Gubaya was just like a family member and party had not at all any differences with him.
Earlier, addressing the public gathering during the Sangat Darshan program at Tohra, Bahdson, Nabha and Chittanwala, the Chief Minister said that the unprecedented development and pro-people policies of the SAD-BJP government during its decade long regime would certainly return the alliance government into power for third consecutive term with thumping majority.
Mr. Badal listed the major achievements of the state government to put Punjab on the high growth trajectory and pointed out that all the cities and towns across the state would be provided with the facilities of safe drinking water, sewerage, roads and street lights with a massive investment of Rs.6000 crore by the end of next year.
The Chief Minister dared PPCC Chief Capt. Amarinder Singh to list a single achievement during his tenure as Chief Minister from 2002 to 2007, rather his government was credited with ruining the state economy with the decay of industry, agriculture and allied sectors beyond anyone’s imagination. On the contrary, our government had made all out efforts to put the derailed economy during Captain’s tenure back on the track. Seeking unflinching support and cooperation from the people in favor of SAD-BJP alliance during the ensuing assembly polls, the Chief Minister appealed them not to be swayed by the false propaganda of the Congress party, whose ultimate goal was to satiate their lust for power not to serve the people with missionary zeal like us. The Chief Minister further said that another chance to the SAD-BJP alliance government would help the incumbent government to accomplish its unfinished agenda of overall development and prosperity in the state to emerge Punjab as a front runner state in the country.
The Chief Minister announced the grant of Rs. 20 crore for the execution of development works in nearly 140 villages and 34 wards of Nabha assembly constituency.
