Chandigarh, December 05, 2016: Reacting to the latest revolt in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by former Indian women hockey team captain Rajbir Kaur, the Punjab Congress on Monday said it was evident that the corruption in the party had assumed gigantic proportions, threatening to corrupt the very fabric of the state, which is already reeling under the destructive forces unleashed by the Badals.
With Arjuna awardee Rajbir Kaur also raising the banner of rebellion against Arvin Kejriwal’s party, citing sale of Jalandhar Cantt ticket to an outsider, the Punjab Congress said the corruption in the party was apparently so deep-rooted and extensive that no genuine person or worker could hope to get a ticket, leaving only dishonest people to remain in the electoral fray on behalf of AAP.
Kejriwal and his party have scaled the heights of moral bankruptcy, said the Punjab Congress, urging the people of Punjab not to allow AAP to further destroy the state’s democratic fibre.
Failure to do so would lead to complete collapse of the state’s political and social structures, said Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) leaders Laal Singh, Sunil Jakhar and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, warning against allowing the AAP leadership to corrupt the people of the state and destroy its electoral institutions.
The state and its people have suffered enough as a result of the greed and gluttony of the Badals and their cronies and do not deserve to be pushed further into a cycle of despair and devastation on account of the AAP leadership’s avarice, said the PPCC leaders, warning AAP against their continued attempts to corrupt the people of Punjab.
