Faridkot, January 1, 2017: Former MP & State President of the Trinamool Congress in Punjab, Jagmeet Singh Brar inaugurated two more offices of the TMC today in Sri Muktsar Saheb and Faridkot. This is the 10th office of the party to be opened in the past 15 days and the event was attended by a large number of volunteers and supporters of Jagmeet Singh Brar.
After a 6 member 'Sangathan Vistaar' committee was announced a few days ago, these offices will now form part of the fast growth plan adopted by Brar for the TMC in Punjab and in the coming days many high profile joinings into the TMC are expected along the lines of the party's activity in Doaba. The inaugurations attracted large crowds of Brar's supporters and included a large number of AAP volunteers and local office bearers who also raised slogans in support of an alliance with the TMC during the roadshows after the office opening. Jagmeet Singh Brar said "I began my political career in Malwa and the people of Malwa have always given me a lot of love over the last 40 years, and today my relationship has become even stronger with the support and enthusiasm that the TMC is getting here". He added "I am in touch with a large number of former congress colleagues who are fed up of the royal ways of Amarinder and his coterie of brokers and in the coming days they will be joining the TMC." He brushed aside allegations that he was poaching AAP leaders in a big way and said "Yes, I am in touch with a lot of friends in AAP, we have common goals and a common mission for Punjab so if they place their faith in the TMC who am I to close doors on them. TMC is not actively poaching leaders and volunteers of AAP, but we will not turn away anyone who comes to us with faith and hope". While answering questions on the possibility of a pre-poll alliance with AAP he said "I have been saying this repeatedly, TMC is keen on an alliance and in the greater interest of Punjab we are being very flexible. The ball is now in AAP's hands and they must realize the importance of standing united. TMC will fight Parivarwaad and Rajwadashahi in Punjab regardless of the outcome of the alliance. All that needs to be decided is if we will walk together or separately". TMC sources indicated that Jagmeet Singh Brar may travel out of Punjab very shortly for a meeting with TMC National President & West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to take the final decision in thee coming days and that the TMC was gearing up to contest elections on its own if the alliance talks failed. Those present at today's inaugurations included, Former MLAs Ripjit Singh Brar, Vijay Sathi and Dr Harbans Lal alongwith Sant Singh Ghagga, Amarjit Singh Rajeana, Gurdas Girdhar, Balbir Sidhu, Harphool Singh Harike and Sadhu Singh Sekhon.
