- Appeals for 100 Percent Vaccination of Village Residents

Nabha / Patiala, 28 May: During his ongoing drive to make village panchayats aware of the grim situation of COVID cases in the rural areas, Commissioner, Patiala Division, Chander Gaind, today visited villages Lang and Mandaur.
Accompanied by Punjab Minorities Commission member Mr Bahadur Khan and SDM Patiala Charanjit Singh, urged the villagers to abide with Covid Appropriate Behaviour such as to wear masks, maintain social distancing and wash or sanitize their hands frequently to curb the contagion of CORONAVIRUS. He also made them to be cautious of the wrong propaganda by some miscreants regarding Vaccination Drive and testing.
Referring the announcement, made by the Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh to give a grant of Rs 10 lakh to the villages having 100 percent vaccine coverage, Mr Chander Gaind said that we all should strive hard to make the Rural Fateh Mission, a great success. He appeals to form a group of seven Rural Corona Volunteers in each village to monitor and help the people having symptoms of COVID by facilitating by testing and others by making accessible to vaccination.
Interacting with Sarpanchs of a dozen villages, Mr Chander Gaind also conveyed the message of Local Bodies' Minister, Brahm Mohindra to keep their villages free of Covid by supporting the strenuous efforts, put in by the state government under the leadership of Punjqb Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh.
He said,"It's our duty as the representative of the villages to save the villagers of the clutches of the pandemic by helping them."
Mr Bahadur Khan, Member, State Minorities Commission, Punjab, endorsed the efforts of the District Administration and State Government and urged the panchayats to support the campaign 'Covid Mukt Pind' whole heartedly by taking care of each and every villager.
