When the second wave of COVID struck the state in March 2021, the Punjab government led by Capt Amarinder Singh started its preparations to tackle it took immediate decision to impose restrictions.
The government decided to impose restrictions in all districts in a bid to control the rising COVID cases and fatalities. Corona curfew/lockdown was imposed in all districts by the government.
The first set of restrictions were imposed on March 21, 2021. Since then, the restrictions have kept extending. However, in its recent orders, the government provided a few relaxations in the restrictions, which will remain in force till June 10.
Now the deaths and corona cases witnessed a downward trend. Certainly, the restrictions played important role to check the expansion to this pandemic.
