More than 50,000 people viewed for online classes ‘New Udaan’ project, amid Corona pandemic
Ferozepur, September 8, 2020: The ‘New Udaan’ project launched by the education department under the guidance of district administration was successful, amid corona pandemic for online classes to the students of 6th to 12th classes on YouTube under the banner of Chanan Munare, viewed by more than 50,000 people.
While the world was paralyzed by the global epidemic Corona, India was not untouched by the lockout and the epidemic affected every sector, be it business or employment resulting in the closure of schools and colleges were closed. Student examinations were postponed. The children were deprived of going to school-college and at the beginning of the new semester, the children had to stay away from their school. In view of the seriousness of the matter, an attempt was made by the District Administration and District Education Officer, Ferozepur in District Ferozepur, Punjab.
Harinder Bhullar who himself is a teacher created a YouTube channel and recorded the lectures by the 14 subject matter experts and put them online under the title Chanan Munare for the students of 6th to 12th classes.
Acting Head of the project, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Behal and District Education Reforms Team, Deepak Sharma in the role of convener gave a platform to the expert teachers of every subject where even in this difficult situation of Corona time. The children and their parents expressed satisfaction over the New Udaan project, with more than 50,000 viewers making the education a continuous process while at home, said team members.
The hard work and dedication of all the teachers in the team – Nandini Gupta, Davinder Nath, Gurpeet Singh, Ravi Inder Singh, Sushma, Dinesh Chauhan, Manoj Gupta- presented their lessons which were beneficial to the students for making this medium of online education success.
