BJP Kissan Morcha justifies 3 farm ordinances but admitted for amendment in Bills over MSP
Ferozepur, September 22, 2020: Today, State President, BJP Kissan Morcha, Vikramjeet Singh Cheema, was here in Ferozepur and held a press conference over three farm ordinances passed by the BJP government to empower the farmers community. At the sometime, he admitted for amendment, to the extent of making no purchases below the Minimum Support Price - MSP rate, in these bills.
During his address, Cheema said, the new three farm ordinances are farmer and national friendly and so far as, MSP has never been legalized, so far by any government. Now this demand has come forward that there should be no purchase below the MSP for which we will take up with the Centre government for necessary amendment. He said, the PM Narendera Modi and Agri Minister, Narinder Singh Tomar had number of times cleared that MSP will not be withdrawn.
He said Modi government is committed with an aim to transform the lives of farmers and double their income and announced the increase in MSP of various crops including the wheat for Rs.50 per qtl. In fact, some vested interest people are misguiding the farmers.
On asking about having meeting with the farmers by the BJP leaders before introducing the Bills, Cheema admitted about this communication gap. But now, in the coming one month, we will be visiting in the villages in all the districts in the Punjab state, to put wiser about the three ordinances to the farmers. On the basis of feedback, we will take up the matter at the Centre level, for consideration of any further provisions or amendment, in these Bills.
On this occasion, District President, Surinder Singh Bagge Ke Pippal, DP Chandan, Jugraj Singh Katora, Surhit Singh Sadardin, Kissan Morcha District President, Kikkar Singh Kutbewala, Rajinder Singh Habib Ke, Gurjit Singh, Balwinder Singh Kotwal and Dr.Kulbhushan Sharma were also present.
