Prannoy Roy pitches Nobel Peace Prize for Sikhs organizing ‘life-saving’ langars
Chandigarh, February 2, 2021: Senior journalist and Co-founder NDTV Prannoy Roy has pitched Nobel Peace Prize Award for the ‘Sardars’ (Sikhs) carrying out humanitarian works including organizing langars across the work during the pandemic.
Taking to Twitter, Roy expressed that where suggestions are pouring for nominating real heroes like Stacey Abrams, US Voting Right Activist, he appealed that Sikhs who organized langars (community kitchen) during the Covid-19 pandemic should also be nominated for the Nobel Prize Award for their contribution to humanity.
Around the world suggestions are pouring in, nominating real heroes -l ike the wonderful Stacey Abrams - for the Nobel Peace Prize. My earnest appeal is that Sardars and their life-saving Langars across the world of Covid, should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this year.

Some social media however criticized Roy citing violence that broke in out in many parts of Delhi and Red Fort flag controversy during Tractor Rally on Republic Day.
Abhinav Sharma, a social media user said that though Sikhs' sacrifice for the nation is appreciated, they should also be called out when they caused violence and brought shame to the country.
Take a look at how social media users reacted to Prannoy Roy suggestion:
By that Logic the Temples of India should be nominated for Peace Prize every year. Inspite of the Loot by the GOI nobody has risen with weapons nor stopped the Charity works !!
Langars are not Charity but Favors used wen they go violent and insult the country.

Hahaha why am I not surprised by this goose throwing in a political controversial angle.. we appreciate the sikhs sacrifice for the nation but at the same time you need to call them out when they cause violence and bring shame to the country (Red Fort heist) peace prize ????

Khalsa aid is nominated already. Unfortunately, our own country is little behind in appreciating their own country man doing good work all over the world and appritiated worldwide.
