Chandigarh, February 22, 2021:
A special seminar was held today at the Kisan Bhawan in Chandigarh where the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and Communist Party of India (CPI), including Simranjit Singh Mann and Dr. Joginder Dyal, along with advocates, social workers, and intellectuals took part. The seminar was held in the memory of Late Sardar Jaswant Singh Mann, Secretary-General of SAD (Amritsar), to discuss Kisan Morcha's current situation and its impact.
Speaking on occasion, Amitoj Mann, Punjabi actor, and director said, "The agitation must not be failed at any cost as every person of Punjab has been involved in it, and if it fails, a big disappointment will take place throughout the state."
He added that the farmers only need a uniform hike in MSP. "Punjab doesn't need industries for creating employment. It is an agriculture-based state, and hence there is already a job in each house in the form of farming."
Simranjit Mann said that their party provided total support to the farmers of the country who are fighting for their legal rights. "I feel that the international borders should be opened so that Punjab can get a maximum benefit by importing and exporting the crops," said Mann.
CPM leader Dr. Joginder Dyal said, "The only demand of CPI is that the three farm laws should be repealed at the earliest. The farmers should also be provided a guarantee of MSP. The agitation of farmers belongs to the whole state, and people from each profession are involved. The Communists are also a part of this massive agitation. But unfortunately, the government of India is trying to harm the agriculture with their new policies."
