S.A.S. Nagar, July 08, 2020: The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today handed over a grant of Rs. 5 lakh for the maintenance of the streets and drains of village chapparchiri. On the occasion, the minister said that the grant has been given from the discretionary quota of the MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib Parliamentary Constituency Mr. Manish Tewari.
The minister further said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is devoting special attention to the development works in the rural areas. He also emphasized the robustness of the infrastructure related to streets and drains so as to facilitate easy commuting. He also added that the city of Mohali is seeing development on a huge scale.
Coming to the corona virus pandemic, the minister said that the people need to follow safety protocol of the health department such as wearing of masks, washing of hands with soaps and hand sanitizers for 20 seconds as often as possible and maintaining the social distance. He also exhorted them to contact helpline number 104 of the health department in case of any medical need.
Divulging more, he said that keeping in view the covid situation, the State Government has extended the timings of the e-sanjeevani OPD for the gynaecology OPD and General OPD services in the Government Hospitals from 8 am to 2 pm from Monday to Saturday. This step has been taken to ensure that the expert doctors are available for the patients for maximum time besides providing teleconsultation services throughout the state.
