Patiala Administration to leave no stone unturned to Make District COVID Free Under Mission Fateh

Patiala, July 12, 2020: Taking a serious view of the spike in COVID-19 cases in the district, District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Kumar Amit, today, held a detailed meeting with the key officials to chalk out new strategy to combat CoronaVirus strictly. He asked the officials to adopt strictness to contain further spread of this pandemic in the district by adhering to the COVID-19 precautions at ground level, particularly in containment and micro-containment zones.
Reiterating the district administration’s commitment to make district COVID-19 free by concerted efforts of all the departments, he added that we would have to strive hard with more coordination to make Mission Fateh a great success.
Stressing on the dire need of adherence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Containment and Micro-Containment Zones, Deputy Commissioner said that those who would violate the norms to be dealt with strictly. He asked to challan the violators immediately in case they failed to wear a mask, maintaining social distancing etc. He said that we cannot compromise with the safety of the rest of the citizens other than the infected areas. Asking the people, who are residing in containment/micro containment zones to limit their outdoor activities till the completion of stipulated time period, he said that otherwise administration would have to initiate strict action.
Assigning the duty of supply of essential goods in local containment zones to MC Commissioner, Mr Amit said that she would also keep vigil on sub divisions too. Similarly, she would also monitor the compulsory quarantine process of NRIs and other Indian citizens coming back to the district.
Expressing satisfaction on the use of Rapid Antigen Test Kits, he asked the Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra and District Epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh for comprehensive testing to identify the suspected cases.
Deploying ADC (D) Dr. Preeti Yadav, on the monitoring of COVID-19 testing, isolated cases and home isolated persons through the SDMs and Civil Surgeon, he said that the check would also be kept on all level-1,2 and 3 facilities.
Meanwhile, ADC (G) Pooja Syal Grewal asked to monitor the movement of entrants to the district through roads particularly through Shambhu Border, Rail and Air by making better coordination with SSP, SDMs and Civil Surgeon Office.
Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh and Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) asked to monitor the control room and other activities. Similarly, Joint Commissioner MC and DSP City-1 to ensure abiding of COVID-19 norms in Patiala-1 and SDM Patiala and DSP City-2 in Patiala-2 and would report to ADC (G).
Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit directs SDMs to take recent spike in CORONA Cases, as an emergent situation and to curb it, a strict vigil to be kept on outsiders and district residents from other states with the help of Flying Squads, Revenue Patwaris, ASHA and Anganwari Workers, Police and NGOs.
