Fatehgarh Sahib, July.14, 2020: Pavitar Singh PCS Officer, who was earlier SDM Bassi Pathana and recently transferred as SDM Phagwara was tested positive along with other officers, who attended the PCS Officer’s Association meeting held at Chandigarh. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital Mohali, where he is recovering. As soon as the news spread in Bassi Pathana sub division the NGOs of the area started various types of religious ceremonies for his early recovery. Raj Kamal, a social cum religious personality of the area, told that Pavitar Singh is very popular and favorite among the residents of the sub division as he always strives for selfless service for the common people.
He said that during the lockdown period, he was regularly in touch with various NGOs and his own sources to motivate them to come forward to help the needy in the hour of crisis on humanitarian ground and involved approximately more than 10 NGOs of the area to distribute dry ration and cooked food by dividing the town in sectors. He has also arranged a large number of essential commodities kits containing Rice, Wheat, Dal, Ghee, Oil, Salt, Biscuits, Sugar etc. from his own sources and distributing it to needy through NGOs. He has been working for 14 hours a day to help the people and is available to everyone on cell to redress their grievances.
He said that due to his good work done in the area, the representatives of various NGOs performed religious ceremonies for his well being. He said that as soon as he is discharged from the hospital and joins duty, he will be honoured and thanksgiving prayers will be organised.
