Mandatory FIRs on safety protocol violators
District witnesses 21 positive cases
Two recover while two co-morbid patients succumb to infection
S.A.S. Nagar, July 14, 2020: The increase in the number of positive cases since the past couple of days, mandates breaking human to human contact chain to contain the spread of the virus said Girish Dayalan, Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar.
Going strict on enforcement of safety protocols, he said “No loitering what-so- ever would be permitted; safety protocol enforcement teams would not just issue warning or challan violators but would register FIRs for non-compliance to directions issued by State Government.”
Making an appeal to the public to restrict movement and come out only if absolutely essential, Girish Dayalan informed that the district has registered 21 COVID positive cases on Tuesday while two patients recovered and another two with co-morbidities succumbed to infection.
The new patients include four from Peer Muchhala (21 M, 21 M, 35 M,21 F), two from Dhakoli (7 M, 12 M), three from Derabassi (30 M, 24 M ,30 M ), one from Jawaharpur(50 M) four from Phase 4, Mohali (30 F, 4 M, 1 M, 3 M), two from LIC Colony Kharar(28 F, 33 M ), one 44 years Male from Gilco Kharar, two (36 M , 6 M) from Kharar, one 56 years Male from Sector 68 Mohali and one 22 years Female from Phase 9 Mohali.
Amongst the two deceased were a 48years Male from Jawaharpur who was admitted in PGI since 9/7/2020 and a 65years Male from New Chandigarh who was admitted in PGI since 5/7/2020. Notably both were with co morbidity.
As of now, total cases reported in the district are 444 with 158 active cases and 279 have been discharged while 9 expired.
