Mass awareness drive held across 890 Villages of Jalandhar
Jalandhar, July 12, 2020: The Sarpanchs and Panchs of 890 villages of the district along with Rural Development and Panchayat Department today sensitized the people about mandatory medical protocols to be followed to keep Covid-19 pandemic at bay under ‘Mission Fateh’ launched by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
The department of Rural Development and Panchayats led by District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) Mr Iqbaljit Singh Sahota along with BDPOs in 11 blocks today undertook a major awareness drive in all the 890 villages of the district.
During the drive, the Sarpanchs and Panchs of the villages along with officers of the Rural Development and Panchayat department carried out door to door visits for awakening the people regarding the precautions to be kept in mind for checking the spread of Corona Virus in the district.
During the campaign, the teams exhorted the people to wash their hands frequently with soap or use sanitizer, wear masks and obey two-yards distancing norms during their day to day activities.
The people were also apprised about the aims and objectives 'Mission Fateh', which was the brainchild of the Chief Minister.
The teams informed the people that the Mission Fateh would emerge as a symbol of firm resolve of the people of Punjab to check the spread of novel corona virus through discipline, cooperation and compassion.
The teams also emphasized that the Chief Minister has through this mission stressed on the need for adherence to all safety protocols, cooperation with the state government through compliance with the lockdown restrictions and compassion towards the poor.
