Plantation drives, canopies for donations, medical camps set up
Efforts to revive the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji have already begun in Punjab as Gurpurab is approaching soon. To honour the 550th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, series of activities are being organised by Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran under their flagship annual event ‘Parivartan 2019’ to be held on 13th and 14th Nov 2019. In line with the current year theme ‘One for all, All for one’ a blood donation camp was organised at the college premises where 550 units of blood was collected by the medical teams from the participatory hospitals namely, Max Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Civil Hospital, and Rotary Club Blood Banks. The spirit of oneness was further extended at the college premises where canopies have been set up where anyone can come and donate books, stationary items, clothes, woollen, shoes and the like for the needy people.
Students and faculty of CGC Landran also visited Sacha Dhan Sahib, Mohali and organised free medical camp and consultation with the aim of promoting ‘Health for all’. Also, Nishkaam seva (Selfless action) via langar and cleaning at the Akal Ashram Gurudwara, Sohana enriched the strong religious and moral character of the students. A plantation drive was also witnessed where more than 100 different medicinal trees including Sheesham, Amla, Sukhchain, Bhera, Guawa, Arjun and Jabranda were planted in the nearby villages.
