Chandigarh, November 06, 2019: The Dera Baba Nanak Utsav to be held from 8th-11th November and dedicated to the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, would add colour to the festivities accompanying the opening of Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.
The Dera Baba Nanak Utsav would be organized by the State Government with the assistance of the cooperative sector institutions. The historical town is ready to host 30000 devotees daily with an ultra modern tented city ready to cater to 3544 people. The Cooperation Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa would inaugurate the 4 day utsav on 8th November.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that on 8th October at 4 AM Parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji would be held, From 5-7:30 AM there would be kirtan of Asa Di Vaar, from 7:30-8:15 AM there would be Katha/Gurmat Vichar, from 8:15-9:15 AM there would be Ardaas/Hukamnama and from 9:15-10 AM, kirtan darbar would be held. On the rest of 3 days also, there would be kirtan of Asa Di Vaar, from 7:30-8:15 AM there would be Katha/Gurmat Vichar, from 8:15-9:15 AM there would be Ardaas/Hukamnama and from 9:15-10 AM, kirtan darbar would be held.
The spokesman also said that on the historic day of the opening of the corridor i.e. 9th Of November, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would attend the utsav and would also lead the first jatha to have a darshan of Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib which would also include ex PM Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Divulging more, the spokesman said that 7 pandals have been put up. In Pandal No. 1, gurmat smagam would be held every morning, In pandal 2 theatre festival would be held every night from 7:30-8:30 PM, In pandal 3,5,6,7 seminar session would be held every afternoon from 2:30-4 PM, In pandal 4 film festival would be held from 2:30-4 Pm every afternoon and kavi darbar from 4-7 PM. Top notch poets from Punjab would participate alongwith those belonging to other languages of the country.
The Cooperation Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that the tented city has been erected in 30 acres and contains 544 european style, 100 swiss cottage and 20 darbar style tents. The tented city project has been developed at a cost of Rs. 4.2 crore. The staying capacity of every swiss cottage tent is 2 persons and it also has attached bathrooms. A total of 4 persons can stay at darbar tent and it also has attached bathroom facility. A total of 26 europen style, 10 swiss cottage and 2 darbar style tents would be available for civil officers/employees and the amenity of western style toilet has been provided in the European style tented city. The number of European style tents available for police officers/other personnel would be 56, while the number of swiss cottage tents available for these would be 8 and darbar style tents would be 2. Every European style tent has 17 western style bathroom.
A total of 5 sites have been fixed for providing an R.O. having water processing facility at a rate of 1000 litres per hour so as to provide clean drinking water to the devotees. Four generators with 125 KW capacity would also be installed for uninterrupted power supply. There would also be registration room, cloak room, VIP Lounge, Fire Station and ‘Jora Ghar’ in the tented city. The booking/registration would be free.
