New Delhi, July 25, 2020: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two officers including Manager (Agriculture) of Central Bank of India and a private person in an alleged bribery case.
A case was registered Under Section. 7 of PC Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) and Section 120-B of IPC against a Manager (Agriculture) and an Officer, both working in Central Bank of India, Gotegaon (Shreedham), District Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh) on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant for enhancing the Cash Credit Limit. It was further alleged that after negotiations, the accused reduced the bribe amount to the tune of Rs. 20,000/- and directed the complainant to hand over the amount to a private person. CBI laid a trap and caught the said private person while accepting the bribe of Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant. Both the bank officials have also been arrested. Searches were conducted at five places in the premises of accused at Gotegaon (Shreedham), District Narsinghpur.
All the arrested accused will be produced today in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Jabalpur.
