Urges them to support the District Administration in tackling COVID pandemic
DEDICATED PORTAL TO KNOW REAL TIME STATUS OF BEDS IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS SET UP: VARINDER SHARMA
Ludhiana, July 25, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma today interacted with the leading city industrialists and office bearers of industrial organisations through video conferencing and urged them to assist the District Administration in tackling Covid 19 in an effective manner. He assured them all possible support from the District Administration and Punjab government in every regard.
Today’s video conferencing was attended by industrialists Mr Rahul Ahuja, Mr Upkar Singh Ahuja, Mr DS Chawla, Mrs Mridula Jain and Mr Chiranjeev Singh, and ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, GMDIC Mr Mahesh Khanna, leading city doctor from DMCH Dr Bishav Mohan, besides others.
Mr Varinder Sharma informed that for the welfare of residents and to ensure better coordination amongst district administration and private hospitals, a dedicated portal have been developed through which real time status of vacant beds in each hospital is being monitored so that in case, a particular hospital does not have vacant bed, the patient can be shifted to another nearby hospital. He assured the residents that now, no hospital would be able to hide information regarding the actual status of vacant beds. He said that the direct access of this portal is with Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and ADC (Development), besides the information is being shared with the private hospitals as well.
The industrialists assured the Deputy Commissioner that they have always supported the District Administration in fight against Covid 19. They assured that the MSME sector of Ludhiana have already contributed more than Rs 1.5 crore with the district administration to ensure safety of residents during Covid 19 pandemic.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the industrialists to ensure that wearing of masks should be made mandatory for the labour and it should be a part of their uniform. He also urged them to repeatedly sensitise the labour regarding ways to protect themselves from Covid 19 so that precious lives can be saved.
