Amritsar, July 29, 2020: The District Education Officer( Secondary), Satinderbir Singh, with a view to felicitate the topper students of the district hosted ' Coffee With Topper Students' here today.
Harman( GSSS, Naushehra), Amandeep Kaur ( GSSS, Chogawan Sadhpur), Gagandeep Kaur( GSSS, Sultan Wind), Mansi Rai( Dhapai), Arshpreet Kaur( GSSS, Sultan Wind), Sandeep Kaur( GSSS, Mahna Singh Road) have scored 98 % and above marks in the recently declared result of class XII by the PSEB, thus, entitling themselves for the Cash Award of Rs.5100/- announced by the Chief Minister, Capt. Amarinder Singh, during " Ask Captain Facebook Live Show" on Saturday.
It was a gala occasion for the students to celebrate their distinctive achievement with the District Education Officer. The Cake was cut and ' Chat Show' was also organised to have friendly interaction with the students. In the " Chat Show", the visibly elated students, while sharing their joy , expressed their gratitude for their teachers and the parents.
" Under Mission Cent Percent" , our teachers have really worked by hard. Extra classes were taken and simplified study material of different subjects were provided and tests were taken regularly to ensure meticulous preparation for the examination", said the students while adding that the teachers also remained in touch with them and their parents via whats groups. They were always ready to answer their queries or solve any problem related with the study", said the students while sharing their experiences with the DEO(SE), Satinderbir Singh, Deputy DEO(SE) Harbhagwant Singh, Joginder Kaur Shingari, Principal and Devinder Kumar, Social Media Coordinator.
" It is the impact of the "Sikhiya Sudhar Muhim" and the " Mission Cent Percent" that the government schools have consistently been performing well. For the consecutive second year, the government schools have out-shined the private schools in PSEB results both in quantity and quality. The government schools have not only achieved 94.32 % pass percentage as against the 91.84% of private schools but there are 1903 Government Senior Secondary Schools in the state of which 1204 schools have achieved 100 per cent result. On the other hand, out of 1718 private schools, only 528 schools could achieve cent percent results", said Satinderbir Singh, while exhorting the students to be ambassadors of the government schools to make the people aware about the changing scenario of the government school
It is a matter of pride for the teachers of government schools as their hard work has paid off. “We are extremely happy with this cash prize announcement as it would further motivate the students to perform well”, further added the DEO.
