Ayali had demanded that Harsimrat Badal should resign in protest against anti-farmer ordinance of Union Govt.
Says Akali Dal's snub forced Ayali to fall back in line & support Anti-Farmer ordinance
Mullanpur Dakha (Ludhiana), July 30, 2020: District Congress Committee Ludhiana (Rural) Karanjit Singh Soni Galib today alleged that Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali’s U-turn over Union Minister Harsimrat Badal’s resignation has once again proved his dubious nature. In a press statement issued here today, Soni Galib stated that Ayali had demanded that Harsimrat Badal should resign in protest against the anti-farmer ordinance of BJP-led Union government, in which Akali Dal is an alliance partner.
Soni Galib advised Ayali to stop shedding crocodile tears over the plight of farmers after supporting the Centre’s decision to clear the ordinances.
“Having given its full backing to the ordinances, which were clearly the first step towards elimination of the MSP regime, the Akali Dal have lost all locus standi to even pretend to care about the farmers,” said Galib.
He said that Ayali should not forget that as a Union Cabinet Minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal was part of the Cabinet meeting that stamped its approval on the ordinances that will totally destroy Punjab’s farming community. "No purpose will be solved now by Manpreet Singh Ayali pretending concern about the farmers, as it was his own party that has supported the ordinances,” alleged Galib.
He quipped that although Ayali issued a statement earlier, where he had demanded Harsimrat Badal’s resignation, but was forced to fall back in line after snub by Akali Dal top brass.
