Fatehgarh Sahib, July.29, 2020: Sixteen Students from various departments of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU), Fatehgarh Sahib have been selected for a one year Research attachment program by ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research)-Center for Innovation and Biodesign (CIBIOD), PGIMER, Chandigarh. SGGSWU had recently signed an MoU with CIBIOD and is being executed by the Center for Research and Innovation of SGGSWU (CSRI-SGGSWU).
Vice Chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh while congratulating the achievers mentioned that their achievements assumes significance keeping in view the ‘Self-Reliant India’ initiative of the Central Government. He also committed all the help and support to them and CSRI-SGGSWU in developing innovative research centres within the campus.
Dr. C. Rajesh, Chairperson of CSRI-SGGSWU, said that the research attachment program is to be carried out at ICMR-CIBioD, Advanced Cardiac Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh which provides a golden opportunities for the young and bright Science/ Engineering/ Management/ Medicine students, who want to learn and get involved in cutting edge health related technologies. He added that during the program students learn about Innovation, Incubation, Prototyping and Commercialization of Novel Ideas and usage of knowledge of technology and social science in medical profession. During this program, students will work on the live projects in research groups of CIBIOD–PGI. Students from various departments i.e. Bio-technology, Computer Science, Physiotherapy, Zoology, Botany and Environmental Sciences, will get training with specific groups in various programs of CIBIOD– PGI, Chandigarh.
