Chandigarh, December 5, 2021: Rabindra Narayan, President PTC Group paid tribute to senior journalist Vinod Dua who passed on Saturday.
The 67-year-old journalist was a pioneer in broadcast Hindi journalism with stints in Doordarshan and NDTV.
Rabindra Narayan took to Facebook to pay tribute to the late journalist.
"VINOD DUA - AAP KE LIYE - NO MORE
The fearless journalist, singer, actor, traveller, thinker #VinodDua is no more. I remember him as my senior from Hansraj College who was like a son to my father in law #DrCharanDasSidhu. He would always be smiling, encouraging and wanting to know something new from you. His wife Chinna and he were inseparable and that may be the reason why they fell to Covid together - she didn’t recover but he also never did. Within months they are together again.
With Vinod an era in Indian journalism ends. An institution ends. Not many know that his distinct way of speaking as a host came from his days of theatre with Dr Sidhu who taught all of us - taka taka ke bolna. While Sidhu sahab was always on high pitch, Vinod mastered the art of stressing on words and points by remaining low pitch yet firm. From playing Kalasidh in Indumati Satyadev in 1981 to being the “Janvaani” and always “Aap Ke Liye” anchor, he was the nation’s voice for a long long time. The Vinod Dua Show will live on in every TV anchor who remains truthful, fearless and full of conviction! The Father of TV Journalism is no more!," he posted.
