Woman IPS officer who is emerging as rising star on the horizon

Chandigarh, 19 April 2019: 2012 batch Punjab cadre IPS Amneet Kondal seems to be fast emerging as a rising star on the horizon. Her tenure as SSP of Fatehgarh Sahib has brought out her potential in the public domain. She has grabbed the public attention by her good work on the law and order front.
Field postings provide the civil servant a unique opportunity to prove their aptitude. Some of them utilize this opportunity to achieve greatness as they are filled with a natural ability to be better than all others while others just play the role of a pen pusher.
Within a short span after taking over as SSP of Fatehgarh Sahib, Amneet has proved her good command and supervision on police administration. The people of Fatehgarh sahib are fascinated by her performance as she had been successful in busting a gang of thieves which were responsible for robberies at the industrial godowns of Mandi Gobindgarh.
With quick action and competent handling of this issue and putting the accused behind the bars within a fortnight, Amneet have managed to grab the limelight.
Praising the SSP, Tarlok Gupta General Secretary Punjab NCP said “The gang was a big headache for the industrialists of the area as it was involved in theft cases of costly material from the industrial godowns”. Her swift action against the culprits has won the confidence of the people, he said.
Answering a query of APS Brar, Amneet said “Great things in administration are not at all done by one person. They are done by a team of people”.
“Moreover, it is the result of the preparation and hard work. There is always space for improvement”, she further added.
After the implementation of the model code of conduct, Amneet took various measures to tighten the noose around the anti-social elements. Special checking at public places, Railway Stations, Bus stands were initiated all over the district. All the entry and exit points of the district have been sealed and nakas have been erected to keep check on the anti-social activity.
Amneet Kondal is monitoring the whole exercise personally and it has resulted in recovery of 448 Quintal poppy husks, 6.5 Kg. Opium, 727 Gm heroin, 10136 Litre illicit liquor, 11000 intoxicant tablets, injections, cash around Rs.26 Lakh, other items worth Rs.90 Lakh and 25Kg. Gold worth Rs.8.5 Crore.
