FACE TO FACE WITH VIPUL NARANG – A SOCIAL ACTIVIST
Activism is my rent for living on this planet earth, says Vipul Narang
HARISH MONGA
Vipul Narang (VN) is now a day’s new leading name in the NGOs in Ferozepur. VN is a young, dynamic; enthusiastic who has passion to serve the needy and poor class, at any odd hours even.
During the Face to Face with VN, he started quoting the words of Mother Teresa - “At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by "I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.”
Hardly there is any social service scene in Ferozepur, where VN is not only seen but contributing with Tan-Mann-Dhan. He did his MA in journalism from Punjabi University in 2012.
Unfortunately, I lost his father on December 27, 2013. Then, a thought came to my mind that life is too short to live if something happens in your life and it is too long if nothing happens but you involve yourself with the social activities which give you pleasures while serving the needy class, said VN.
The idea of forming the Amit Foundation in the name of my father was to keep him alive by remembering in every work for the welfare of the society, shared VN.
In the present time, everyone does for himself and there are only very few people, who think of others who need your help. Even listening to others problem even not solving, is also a great help, to give relief to the person in trouble.
Congratulations VN from Babushahi.com team, for entering the world of social service
HM When did you first begin work in this field, as an activist?
VN On seeing the negativity in the hospital in Apollo in 2013 when my father was admitted for one month, I thought of doing something for the needy persons. Later on, my wife was suffered a major heart disease and problem in brain over vision and remained admitted in hospital at Hero Heart and PGI which moved me further to do something who cannot afford.
HM What were the difficulties you faced in your journey with specific reference?
VN Nothing at all. My father and mother are my inspiration.
HM How did the local people support you?
VN The major support is from own family and relatives. Number of NGOs – Bal Gopal Foundation, Mayank Foundation, Rotary Clubs, Ferozepur Foundation, Ek Paryas Society, Red Cross Society, Dharam Jagran Society - have supported me in my social activities for execution.
HM What are the reactions of the people you have tried to help?
VN I am physically and mentally fit with the blessings of the people to whom I have supported from time to time.
HM In how many projects you have associated so far?
VN Since I entered social work, it is countless now. Recently, I have adopted the Music department of Home for the Blind and donated a harmonium, dholak with promise for any further requirement. Earlier, I made a major contribution in donating e-Riksha to this institution also along with Mayank Foundation.
The other major projects undertaken are – Sparsh Drishti for eye check and providing spectacles free of cost to the needy students, Dana-Pani – providing earthen bowls to keep on the roof of the houses for birds during peak summer days. Donating 10 bicycles on World Bicycle Day to students, maidservants, who were feeling difficulty in mobility. Scholarship to five girls of Rs.50,000 through Mayank Foundation and providing Roti Making machine and Rice Maker Machines to Ferozepur Foundation.
Being a rare Blood group of mine (A-ve), I have donated 17 times and I was honoured by Dr. Raj Bahadur Singh, VC, Faridkot Medical College.
VN What message you may like to the youths?
HM Everybody must do some charity on a regular basis for the needy class which will definitely give them an internal positive vibes.
