Guardian of Punjab's rights Pritam Singh Kumedan passes away at 100, cremation on Aug 19 at Mohali

Former PCS officer Pritam Singh Kummedan, who spent his life guarding and fighting for the river waters, territories and every deprived rights of Punjab, is no more. Kumedan, who had reached the age of 100 years, breathed his last in Fortis Hospital Mohali this evening. He was admitted here yesterday evening. Cremation would be at Cremation Ground, Phase 7 Industrial Area, Setor 73 Mohali on 12.00 PM , 19 August, 2022. He was son of Late Partap Singh and resident of House No. 2028, Phase 10, Mohali.
Apart from Punjab Civil Services Officer , Kumedan was a social scientist, expert on River Waters, Inter-state disputes between Punjab, Haryana and Rajsathan. During the tenure of the Badal government, the Punjab Assembly's resolution on river waters bore a distinct stamp of an adviser to the Irrigation Department, Pritam Singh Kumedan. He had been pressing the Badal Goverment to ask Rajasthan and Haryana to pay the cost of the riverwaters which these states were drawing from the Ravi, Beas and the Sutlej for the past several decades.
