Mahavir Chakra Awardee Late Major SMS Brar's wife Balbir Kaur Brar passes away, cremation on Feb 25
Cremation to be performed at Mohali on Friday: Bhog Ceremony to be held on 27th February
Chandigarh, February 24, 2022:
Balbir Kaur Brar Wife of Ex-army officer and Mahavir Chakra Awardee Late Major SMS Brar breath her last today at Chandigarh. She was aged 102. Late SMS Brar husband of Balbir Kaur Brar was a decorated officer in Indian Army who was awarded gallantry award Mahavir Chakra for his bravery shown during operation in Jammu and Kashmir during 1947-48 Indo-Pak war. Balbir Kaur Brar is survived by her nephew Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS who is currently holding the charge of CGM CITCO, Additional Secretary Health and Director Aayush in Chandigarh Administration.
The creamation of Balbir Kaur Brar would be performed tomorrow at Mohali creamtion ground while the bhog ceremony would be performed at Gurudwara Saacha Dhan, Phase 3B1 Mohali on 27th February, Sunday. Chancellor, Chandigarh University Satnam Singh Sandhu expressed his profound grief over the demise of Balbir Kaur Brar while paying his condolence to the departed soul, Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “Balbir Kaur Brar carried the rich legacy of serving the nation in her family she herself carried out a life full of rich & moral values and tried to inculcate the spirit of serving the society and the nation with utmost honesty and dedication in her nephew Rupinderjit Singh Brar,PCS who is currently serving the people of Chandigarh through his services in U.T administration”.
