Ferozepur, January 21, 2024: A composition of poetry, opening up the world of the blind to the sighted, in a Punjabi book titled ‘Khab Sajan De Vekhan’ by visually-impaired Dr Rajesh Mohan – HoD Music Department, at Govt. Barjindra College, Faridkot – was released today at Home for the Blind by Dr. S.N. Rudra, Director, VWS.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Rudra said, despite being blind, Dr.Rajesh Mohan did his PhD in Music and working in the HoD Music Department. He has come up with a collection of 80 compositions in poetry form in Punjabi. The day he came in contact with me, I felt encouraged because of his initiative to write and publish his compositions.
Dr.Rajesh Mohan remembering the old students' days at Home for the Blind, said, the institution has given too much rather than my expectations and thanked the administration and staff of that time as because of them, I could get this achievement in my life in the field of music. He said I will get this book in Braille form also for my fellow friends who may also gain confidence to read his works and in public for sighted persons.
We are a bit different from others, and hence, don’t get easily accepted in the mainstream. The magazine in braille will boost our confidence. I hope the book will break more barriers and change the perception about the blind,” he added.
Present among others on this occasion were Baljit Singh from Canada, Dr.Sahlini Goyal, Iqbal Singh Radio and TV artist, Raj Kumar Sehgal, Navneen Setia, Manager PNB, Avtar Singh, Supervisor Home for the Blind.
